I was friend with Greg in high school and am so sorry to learn he has passed. In addition to classes, we really got to know each other when we were the only freshmen to join the Whitman speech team. While our preference was to get the older students to play Springsteen as we rode in back seats to tournaments, I weirdly associate Greg with Michael Jackson, because the pom pom squad was rehearsing a routine to Beat It in the parking lot outside the classroom where we were practicing speeches. Like others I enjoyed reconnecting on FB and am so sad that his son won't know him as we did.
