So terribly sad. Heartfelt condolences to Melissa and Benjamin. Reading through the comments and stories here reveals that everyone knew the same Greg, no matter how well or little they knew him or how long ago. He was one of most genuine, nicest, friedliest and fun people I have ever known. We were friend at Whitman HS, on the paper together. Only kept in sproradic touch since then, and almost none at all since his move to Asia-- which I now so regret. Did look through my emails for memories of him: We went to a Springsteen concert in DC in 2007, right after he and Melissa got engaged. It was, of course, just like old times. Greg's email the next day included the following: "the last 20 years have only made us better at dancing, singing, and fist pumping." Another email from a couple years earlier concerned an MTV reality show about a high school paper. Here was Greg's take:
MTV's The Paper
> Black & White in the 1980s:
> * hotbed of intrigue and sexual tension
> * kissing teens
> * violent arguments
> * pool parties
> Yep, seems like MTV nailed it again . . . .
We'll miss you terribly Greg.
